ARKRAY Inc. (hereinafter, ARKRAY) will launch a new brand of medical devices and reagents named "The Lab" . ARKRAY has developed and manufactured products in various fields for many years with a focus on diabetes and urine testing, but also including biochemical testing,*1 health care, and veterinary medicine. Our products have been used in more than 80 countries across the world. Our own ideas and technologies have taken form in various product series, such as the GLUCCOCARD series of blood glucose meters for diabetes patient self-monitoring and the ADAMS series of analyzers which are used in the measurement of Hemoglobin A1c,*2 a test item for diabetes.
"The Lab" is a new brand of medical devices and reagents based on the concept of "using unique ideas and technologies to deliver new value to medical practitioners and patients". By incorporating unique ideas and technologies, which ARKRAY has cultivated, we will develop products to answer the call from the medical front for "faster, simpler, more accurate data". Eventually, ARKRAY will develop an extensive line of products that go beyond the field of testing with the aim of further enhancing speed and efficiency of diagnosis while easing the burden on patients. We plan to begin by providing the domestic market with new diabetes testing systems which employ the latest technologies alongside new, portable biochemical testing systems for the overseas market.
Presently, the clinical testing market is growing by 2.4% per year and is expected to reach 7.8 trillion yen.*3 ARKRAY will pursue the introduction of new products and services with the aim of expanding its presence and share in both the domestic and overseas market.

*1 Testing which measures blood or urine components such as proteins, sugars, electrolytes, and enzymes. In cases where the patient's physical condition is abnormal, these components increase or decrease beyond a normal range. Thus, biochemical testing is considered important in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
*2 Hemoglobin A1c serves as an indicator of the patient's average blood sugar level of the past 1 or 2 months. It is formed through the bonding of hemoglobin and glucose in red blood cells.
